Congress Looking To Sue OPEC?

Water4Gas Yesterday, Congress passed a bill by a ratio of 4:1 (large enough to override if the president should choose to veto) which would enable the Justice dept (one asks why the Justice dept instead of Treasury? Commerce? Highways?) to sue OPEC for price gouging and for limiting supplies of oil to America.

The bill would subject OPEC oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela, to the same antitrust laws that U.S. companies must follow if it passes the Senate.

 The bill also requires the Justice Dept to investigate the countries for possible market manipulation and gasoline price gouging.

 There are at least three things wrong with this bone headed legislation

 Retaliation -

 The number of instances where I agree with Bush’s White House are very few and far between but we agree that this legislation is a bad idea. The White House issued a statement stating that targeting OPEC investment in the United States as a source for damage awards “would likely spur retaliatory action against American interests in those countries and lead to a reduction in oil available to U.S. refiners.” The administration said less oil going to refineries would limit available gasoline supplies and raise fuel prices. Duh!

Globalism – For any country to seek recourse against any other country someone has to be in the middle or above? So, for one country to sue another is a step towards globalism because it puts the United Nations or some other global organization as a moderator in the affairs between nations. This is a clear and present danger to American sovereignty. We don’t need to add more power to the movement towards a globalist new world order police state.

 Wrong Target – These criminals in Congress have no shame and they must really believe that no one is watching. They think that they can fool all of the people all of the time? Uh uh! They try to sue OPEC for manipulation and all but what about our “American” automotive and oil corporations (which have Congress in their pockets)? For the last 13 years or so automotive manufacturers have been equipping all new cars with a computer sensor. What purpose does it serve? It makes sure that your car doesn’t get more MPG than the oil companies want your car to have! Yes, it’s true. So if they didn’t have that sensor our vehicles would be wasting less gasoline.  Another example of this is the heeding of authority figures and following of political leaders often without question here in the home of the brave for instance parents would listen to their children’s teachers and principals even to the degree of when their children would get false labels (ADHD) and be put on mind numbing psychotropic drugs. But now that parents are discovering the consequences of these poisons, including homicidal and suicidal ideation, more and more parents are deciding not to go along with the dictates of psych operatives in our school system and are fighting back there.

 When people ultimately find they have been misled or lied to then those lies get rectified. It sometimes takes a long time but it is an inevitable progression. Once upon a time in America the people though that the Fed Reserve as part of the federal government and was a good thing that was looking after them and that taxes were just a natural part of life that could not be avoided.

 One too many bubbles bursting, the devaluation of the dollar, runaway inflation and somehow the Fed isn’t quite so appreciated anymore.
